Hull boss Phil Brown is running the rule over potential summer signings at Euro 2008 as the countdown to the new season continues.

Brown is frantically trying to bolster his squad in preperation for life in the Barclays Premier League and admits the search is on to lure fresh faces to the KC Stadium.

"We need to cast the net further afield and as far afield as possible when it comes to looking for potential signings," Brown told the Hull Daily Mail.

"The reason for that is so that in two or three years' time when we are being rung up by agents, I can say to them 'I've watched that player, I have scouting reports on that player and I know what he can do.'

"I don't want to waste my time fielding calls from agents telling me they have got the next Thierry Henry. I want to be in a position where I know who is out there and what they can do."
