Hartlepool boss Danny Wilson has vowed to be prudent in the transfer market this summer as he attempts to unearth a player who can conjure "a bit of magic".
Midfielder Alan Power became Wilson's first signing of the close season last week after leaving Nottingham Forest.
Wilson is keen to wheel and deal to now ensure the club operate within their financial means over the coming weeks.
"Although we can't compete financially, hopefully we can get the best of what is available and put a squad together which is very strong and very committed," Wilson told the Hartlepool Mail.
"We want that quality of player who can turn a game with a bit of magic."
