Ipswich have confirmed defender Alex Bruce has been offered a new two-year contract to stay at Portman Road.

Bruce - son of Wigan manager Steve - is one of 14 players out of contract at the club in the summer and has been linked with moves to Fiorentina, Norwich and Leeds in the last few months.

Chief executive Derek Bowden told the club's official website: "We have been holding talks with Alex's representative over the past week or so and I can confirm that a new two-year contract has been offered."
