Hartlepool boss Danny Wilson was bemused at his side's failure to take anything from a game they controlled after they were defeated 1-0 by Northampton.
On-loan Preston striker Karl Hawley scored the only goal of the game of the game for the Cobblers.

Wilson said: "We can't keep playing like that and not winning games. We can't do anymore than that, we've dominated the game but haven't got the result.
"We've given a sloppy goal away and our final ball in the box was lacking but we still had enough chances to win the game. We laid siege to their goal in the first-half and I thought we had a stonewall penalty.
"We played some terrific stuff in the second half and had enough chances but we didn't get something on the end of all our good work. We will keep believing and I am sure it will come and Northampton must be very relieved to have won that game.
"We are dominating games and not winning and we've got to make sure the players don't get disheartened. But we are very close to where we want to be but we need to do it sooner rather than later."
