Nottingham Forest are close to completing their £2.5million double transfer swoop for Chris Gunter and Paul McKenna.

Tottenham defender Gunter has agreed a £1.75million switch while midfielder McKenna arrives from Preston in a deal worth £750,000.

Both players have agreed personal terms and passed their medicals and will be officially unveiled as Forest players on Monday once the final paperwork is completed.

Wales international Gunter, 19, enjoyed a successful spell on loan with the Reds last season while boss Billy Davies worked with 31-year-old McKenna during his time in charge of Preston.
