The Fratton Park club have valued Crouch at around £15 million, but some clubs have been put off by his wages, which stand at £70,000 per week. The Cottagers, however, are prepared to match that sum.
But the Premier League side may face competition from Italian gianta AC Milan. The Italians are the highest-profile side to have shown an interest in Crouch recently, although their primary target is Luis Fabiano. Sunderland, Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur are all considering a move as well, but they are unsure about matching the ex-Liverpool man's wages.
Crouch made 35 appearances for Pompey last season, scoring 15 goals.
