This was the month that saw Liverpool thrash the Premier League leaders and champions Manchester United 4-1 at Old Trafford to breathe new life into the title race, while the following week Fulham stunned the Red Devils by overcoming Sir Alex Ferguson's side, minus the red-carded Wayne Rooney, 2-0 at Craven Cottage.

However, Guus Hiddink's Chelsea were effectively ruled out of the championship when they were beaten 1-0 by their London rivals Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.
