Inter Milan's Serie A lead remains nine points tonight, after both they and second-placed Juventus won away from home.

Jose Mourinho's team were a dozen points clear for a few hours thanks to their 2-1 win at Bologna. But Juventus narrowed the gap again with a 2-0 win at Palermo.

Esteban Cambiasso put Inter ahead in the 57th minute this afternoon, but their hosts levelled through Manuel Angel Britos with just over 10 minutes remaining.

Inter substitute Mario Balotelli then scored with his first touch in the 82nd minute to make it three wins in a row for the defending champions and put them in good heart for this week's Champions League tie against Manchester United.

For Juventus, Mohamed Sissoko and David Trezeguet scored in the 27th and 79th minutes respectively for a hard-fought victory which puts their team five points clear of third-placed AC Milan - and able to turn their thoughts to a European appointment with Chelsea.

Roma also warmed up for English opponents in the Champions League - they face Arsenal - with a timely win which took them up to fourth.

Luciano Spalletti's side were far from convincing, but a goal from Rodrigo Taddei in the 63rd minute earned them all three points in a lacklustre encounter against Siena at the Stadio Olimpico.
