Swansea midfielder Leon Britton has paid tribute to the impact made by manager Paulo Sousa since he arrived at the club in the summer.

A lengthy injury list made for a difficult start for the former Portugal midfielder, but the 39-year-old has stamped his mark on his new side and masterminded a nine-match unbeaten run in the Championship.

Britton said: "The new manager has done very well. He works so hard on the training ground, he takes the training sessions every day. He works hard on set-pieces and shows great attention to detail."

He added: "He was a top, top player and to have someone with that experience, who can pass on his personal experiences as a midfielder at the highest level is brilliant. He has been there, done it and bought the t-shirt."
