Darlington manager Dave Penney has handed a trial to striker Paul Robinson.
Robinson, 29, began his career with the Quakers and left for Newcastle in 1998 for £250,000, before spells at a host of other clubs, including Wimbledon and Hartlepool.
His last league club was Torquay in 2006 and he has since spent time with Northern League side Horden Colliery Welfare.
But Penney has decided to give him a chance to impress as he looks for more firepower after releasing fellow strikers Julian Joachim and Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu this summer.
