Midfielder Jason Kennedy insists playing in the play-offs for Darlington ranks among his career highlights so far.

Kennedy, on loan from Middlesbrough, scored to help the Quakers beat Rochdale in the play-off semi-final first leg on Saturday as Dave Penney's side recorded a vital 2-1 win.

The 21-year-old is now relishing the second leg and the prospect of potentially playing at Wembley in the final.

"I've played in Europe for Boro, but playing for Darlo in the play-offs is a great experience and right up there with anything I've done before, no doubts about it," said Kennedy.

"The lads grafted for 90 minutes and put 100 per cent into the performance in the first leg. It was the first step in hopefully playing at Wembley."

On his sublime 18-yard strike last weekend, he added: "I haven't scored many goals in my career, but that has to rank as the best of the lot."
