Dagenham boss John Still blamed injuries and the sale of his best players for the scale of his side's 6-1 FA Cup mauling at Huddersfield.

Still was forced to play centre-back Scott Doe at right-back and striker Jon Nurse at left-back due to a defensive crisis.

Huddersfield took full advantage with clinical finishing, but Still believes Town would not have won by such a big margin if he had had his first-choice back line available.

Still said: "There's no doubt the best team won, and while I think they would have won anyway, I don't think the scoreline would have been that big.

"As it was, the players who we had to play at full-back found it very hard to contain their wide men. I'm not disappointed, and have no criticisms to make of the performance.

"The lads at the back did their best. We came here to attack, and I thought we were actually on top for the first 10 minutes. But we have to remember who we are. We are Dagenham and Redbridge, and we had to sell seven of our best players since the summer, and yet we're still doing quite well in the league."
