Crystal Palace's move for Mark Yeates is still on hold as the Colchester winger's shoulder injury has yet to fully clear up.

Eagles boss Neil Warnock agreed a fee for Yeates earlier in the summer, only for the 23-year-old former Tottenham trainee to fail a medical on the shoulder he dislocated back in February.

Warnock agreed to look again at Yeates but a month later his shoulder is still proving problematic.

"At the moment we won't be taking our interest any further," Warnock told the South London Press.

"Mark's shoulder has improved an awful lot but we still feel he has a way to go yet. We have both decided it's best if he gets back to training and we see how it goes in pre-season."
