Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock is still hopeful of signing Colchester midfielder Mark Yeates.

The 23-year-old is wanted by the Eagles but a shoulder injury, which ruled him out of the final months of last season, has stalled the deal.

But Warnock is hoping a transfer can be concluded for the winger who scored eight times in 29 Championship starts for United.

Warnock told the South London Press: "It was probably a bit concerning for Mark to see stories that the deal had fallen through - it's just on hold while he does a four-week rehabilitation plan.

"Hopefully it will still go through."
