Paul Collingwood is not expecting England to walk all over South Africa during their forthcoming one-day series, despite a formidable recent record against the Proteas.

Andrew Strauss' team have not lost against South Africa in any of their last six meetings - winning five with one no result - with their most recent success coming in their Champions Trophy clash at Centurion.

"Our game plans against them have been pretty good, so I'm sure they're very wary of us because I don't think anybody expected us to beat them in the Champions Trophy," said Collingwood. "It's going to be a tough series, I think we've got to have a really bold approach."

He added: "Obviously Straussy and Andy (Flower, England's coach) have got a clean slate from now on and we'll hopefully get more athleticism on the field and hopefully we can have a bit of an upset again."

England began their tour earlier this week and face Graeme Smith's men in two Twenty20 internationals, five ODIs and four Test matches.

They play their opening game against the Diamond Eagles in Bloemfontein on Friday.
