Coventry chairman Ray Ranson revealed the club still have several summer transfer targets following the collopse of Freddie Eastwood's proposed move to the Ricoh Arena.
The Wolves marksman looked set for a switch to Coventry with terms discussed, but a final stumbling block meant that boss Chris Coleman will have to look elsewhere.
The Sky Blues are known to be tracking out-of-contract striker Clinton Morrison, as well as Southampton's Polish frontman Grzegorz Rasiak.
And Ranson said: "Having worked on the Eastwood deal for several months we are disappointed that we have not been able to make it happen.
"We had agreed all the terms both with Wolves and Eastwood's advisors but there was an issue with his existing contract at Molineux.
"We think we are well placed to add to the squad with the calibre and type of players we want to bring in. It is always in July that the transfer activity begins to hot up," he added.
