Aidy Boothroyd insists the air of optimism around Colchester will remain despite his side's unbeaten run ending with a last-minute goal at Millwall.
The U's looked on course to extend their unbeaten run under boss Boothroyd to 10 games when Anthony Wordsworth slotted home a deflected free-kick after 18 minutes. But Millwall turned the tide after the break and forced their way back into contention courtesy of defender Alan Dunne's 30-yard thunderbolt in the 66th minute.
Wordsworth could have quelled the Lions rally deep into injury-time, but crashed a 25-yard free-kick on to the crossbar before James Henry showed him how to do it from a similar position just 30 seconds later.
"I'm disappointed obviously, we could have almost won it one minute and then we end up losing, but there are no complaints on my part," said Boothroyd.
"These things happen, that is how football is and we'll take what positives we can. I love coming to Millwall and I really enjoyed it.
"Overall we will be keeping our heads up. Fair play to (Millwall manager) Kenny Jackett and his team they did well and we look forward to seeing them soon at our place."
