Chester manager Simon Davies knows his team for Saturday`s opening game against Dagenham, according to his assistant Huw Griffiths.

However, Griffiths was quick to warn under-performing City to raise their game in time for the big kick-off following the club's 4-1 friendly defeat against AFC Telford on Saturday.

He told the Chester Standard: "From past performances we now know what our starting XI is.

"They have been told in no uncertain terms that their performance at Telford wasn't good enough and it won't be tolerated at the club.

"But it's still pre-season, we are getting there. As long as we are okay for Saturday - that's the big thing for us because that's when it counts."
