Chester boss Simon Davies has praised new-boy Jay Harris after watching his side lose 3-2 against Swansea on Friday night.
The 21-year-old midfielder, who completed a move from League Two rivals Accrington in July, scored two but despite Chester's best efforts Roberto Martinez's men snatched victory in the 84th minute through left-back Marcos Painter.
But the boss saved most of his praise for the former Everton trainee and told the Chester Standard: "Jay rats around in midfield and we needed someone like him and Anthony Barry who could run forward and link up with the forwards.
"Jay gives us a slightly different option, but as long as we can put quality into whichever front man as it rotates then we can get a bit of success."
