Chester manager Simon Davies has released seven players as he begins his preparations for next season.

Davies' side finished 22nd in League Two - five points in front of the relegation places - and the Blues boss has begun his shake-up by allowing Tony Grant, Simon Marples, Simon Yeo and Sean Hessey to leave the club.

And Dean Bennett - who spent much of the season on loan at Kidderminster - has also been released, along with youngsters Philip Palethorpe and Adam Walker.
