Chester manager Simon Davies was understandably disappointed with the 2-0 defeat against Wycombe but was pleased with his players' performance.
A goal in each half gave Wycombe the win after which Davies said: "Goals change games and unfortunately we made mistakes at critical stages. I think both times we conceded we were on top.
"Like the game against Leeds earlier this week, we've again conceded a goal from a long ball over the top and that's got to stop."
Davies believes his side can bounce back and start picking up some results.
He added: "I was pleased with the performance, and when I've gone into the dressing room I've seen the lads are gutted and their heads are down, and that's a pleasing thing as it shows they care.
"That gives me hope that we can start picking up the points and turning things around."
