Chris Iwelumo insists he is taking happy memories away from his brief spell at Charlton after completing his move to Championship rivals Wolves.

Iwelumo, who arrived at The Valley on a free transfer from Colchester last summer, top-scored for the Addicks with 10 goals in his only season with the club.

Boss Alan Pardew opted to let the big Scot go in order to fund moves to strengthen the team elsewhere, and Iwelumo certainly bears no grudges.

"I really enjoyed it at Charlton and was really happy, but this came around pretty quick and I had a decision to make," he said.

"I've got some good friends here, and there are some really great lads at the club that I have a lot of time for and obviously wish all the best to.

"(Pardew) is right up there with the managers I have had in the game. We had a good relationship on and off the pitch and the respect is certainly mutual."
