Cardiff striker Paul Parry has signalled his intention to return to international football after withdrawing himself from selection almost a year ago.

The 27-year-old pulled out of Wales' squad for their Euro 2008 qualifiers with Germany and Slovakia back in September 2007 citing personal reasons.

But he is now ready to return to the international fold in time for the forthcoming World Cup qualification campaign.

"My mind is refreshed, I just want to concentrate on football and Wales will be part of it," Parry told BBC Sport. "I will probably have a chat with John (Toshack) before the qualifier.

"I have missed it (international football) and maybe there are a few regrets at not making myself available for a few of the games. But now I'm looking forward to it."

Meanwhile, striker Marcus Bent has completed his switch from Charlton to Birmingham after snubbing a move to Ninian Park at the 11th hour on Monday night.
