Chairman Peter Ridsdale has promised Cardiff fans the club will kickstart their final season at Ninian Park with a stronger squad than the one that reached last season's FA Cup final.

The Bluebirds have flirted with the Championship play-off's for several seasons now without really staking a serious claim for a place in the top six.

However, despite selling rising star Aaron Ramsey to Arsenal, Ridsdale is adamant the Welsh club will bring new players in this summer in an attempt to seal Premier League football before moving to their new stadium.

"I've already said I want to keep the squad together and I want to add to the squad," he told the club's official website. "The manager's made it perfectly clear we need strikers and that's no surprise to anybody.

"We will end up on August 9 this season stronger than we finished last term. It's an exciting time to be a Cardiff City fan. We will have a squad with new faces ready to start the new campaign."
