Rookie Cardiff right-back Adam Matthews has been called into the Wales squad for Saturday's friendly against Scotland.

The 17-year-old has been superb for the Bluebirds since breaking into the first team at the beginning of the season and has now established himself as an ever-present in Dave Jones' starting XI.

His first senior call-up represents a fairytale start to the campaign for Matthews, who joins team-mate Joe Ledley in John Toshack's squad.

Meanwhile, David Marshall is likely to start in goal for Scotland after Craig Gordon was officially ruled out.
