Burnley midfielder Chris McCann is hoping his side can carry their good pre-season form into the new Championship season.

McCann scored the second goal as the Clarets concluded their successful tour of the USA with a 2-0 win over Minnesota on Wednesday.

Owen Coyle's side now head to Scotland for a three-match tour and McCann believes there is still plenty of hard work to do.

"It was brilliant to finish with a win and a goal for me. Pre-season is all about getting fitness up and against Minnesota we looked a lot stronger," McCann told the club's official website.

"I was pleased to get the goal and hopefully I can kick on now and get a couple more before the end of pre-season to take into the new campaign.

"We get a couple of days rest now and then we're off to Scotland where we have some more tough games."
