Burnley chairman Barry Kilby has tipped goalkeeper Diego Penny to make a huge impact at Turf Moor after he was granted a work permit.
The 6ft 5in stopper, who made over 150 appearances for Peru Primera Division side Coronel Bolognesi, joined the Clarets on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
He was given a work permit after Kilby and Clarets boss Owen Coyle attended a Home Office appeal in Sheffield to put forward the Peruvian's case.
Kilby added: "I think we put forward a convincing case for Diego and we are delighted that the panel saw fit to agree with our opinion that he could be a very big player for Burnley Football Club."
