Manager Paul Trollope believes there is every chance Wayne Andrews will be a Bristol Rovers player before the start of the season.

The striker is currently training with the Pirates as he recovers from an injury sustained last season.

Trollope told the club's official website: "Wayne is in the late stages of rehabilitation from his knee injury, the one he picked up against Yeovil when he was with us at the end of last season.

"He's joined us with a view to becoming a permanent signing, and he is of interest to us. We beat off a lot of competition when he came to us on loan in March, and although it didn't work out, we've kept in touch and if the rehabilitation goes well then we'll be looking to secure a deal.

"The fact he's here shows he'd like to join us, and if we can sort things out then I think he'll be a good addition to the squad."
