Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope believes new signings Jeff Hughes and Darryl Duffy will help to solve his side's goalscoring problems.

Both players cost six-figure sums, and Trollope hopes their arrivals will send out a statement of intent ahead of the new campaign.

"After a bit of a frustrating summer it's good to be back, and we're very proud to have announced these signings," he told the club's official website.

"They both cost the club six figures, and they were both right at the top of our list from last season.

"We've had fantastic backing from the chairman and the board to bring them in, and we hope they will help us progress this season, which is what we want to do."
