Shrewsbury have bolstered their attacking options by signing Richard Walker in a season-long loan deal from Bristol Rovers.

Shrews boss Paul Simpson was eager to bolster his strikeforce as he looks to build a squad capable of winning promotion to League One and believes the capture of Walker will add another dimension to his side.

"I'm really looking forward to getting him involved and working with the rest of of the players and hopefully showing the goalscoring form that I think he can show.

"He's not the quickest forward but he is fantastic at getting balls rolled into his feet around the box and twisting and turning. He has an eye for goal and gets himself into good goalscoring positions and he's that type of player you need to have."
