Bristol Rovers are keen on signing Jeff Hughes according to Crystal Palace assistant manager Mick Jones.

The 22-year-old left-back looked set for a permanent switch until an ankle injury he picked up in the reserves ended any hopes of him moving to the Memorial Stadium.

"Jeff was about to sign for Bristol Rovers but then he got injured - that's what killed the deal," Jones told the South London Press.

"But he's fit again now and I don't think they have changed their opinion on wanting him. I would expect that to be ongoing."
