Bristol Rovers striker Rickie Lambert is confident he can surpass the 19 goals he hit this season during the 2008/09 campaign.

Lambert finished as the Pirates' top scorer this season following the club's promotion to League One last May and, while satisfied with his 19-goal haul, believes he will come back even stronger next term.

"I think I can do better next season," he told the club's official website.

"It's been my first experience of playing up front in this division, and now having done that I'll go into next year knowing what it's all about and what to expect.

"I would have liked to have reached 20 for the season, and looking back there were a few chances I missed that I feel I should have scored."
