Boss Paul Trollope insists `belief' will play a huge part in Bristol Rovers rediscovering their winning touch.

The Pirates lost for the fifth straight league game at MK Dons and slipped out of the play-off places.

"We're on a bad run but we have to keep our belief that we're a decent side," Trollope said.

"We lost, but we were pleased with a lot of aspects of it. The change of shape worked, a lot of the players enjoyed it and we played some good football. We created four or five very good chances and hit the bar a couple of times.

"You need to take one or two of them to give yourself a chance of winning the game, but unfortunately we didn't.

"We caused them problems and played between their lines so to go home with nothing is a disappointment for us."
