Brighton manager Micky Adams wants a swift response from midfielder Adam El-Abd over the club's offer of a new contract.
El-Abd was one of the Seagulls' most consistent performers this term until a knee injury brought about a premature end to his season.
But the 23-year-old will be out of contract this summer and Adams, who took over at the Withdean Stadium last week, wants to begin building his team for next season.
"Adam is away but I've spoken to his agent and we will be expecting an answer shortly," Adams told the Argus.
"What I also need to do is sit down with (chairman) Dick Knight and discuss player recruitment."
