Bournemouth youngster Joe Partington is out to stake a claim for a first-team berth ahead of the new season.

The 18-year-old midfielder made six substitute appearances, scoring one goal, towards the end of last term.

He told the club's official website: "It was fantastic to be involved last year, but now I've been given a full contract I'm really looking forward to getting involved on a day-to-day basis and seeing what I can do.

"I'm not going to start the season as a major player in the team, but hopefully I'll be able to impose myself on the team and take all the chances presented to me.

"I really want to show the fans what I can do and can't wait for the season to get started."
