Blackburn have rejected offers from Newcastle and Panathinaikos for defensive duo Stephen Warnock and Andre Ooijer.

With the transfer market starting to get into full swing after a quiet summer so far, clubs were hoping to take advantage of new manager Paul Ince's need to bring fresh faces into Ewood Park.

However, it seems neither Warnock, who only joined Rovers from Liverpool 18 months ago, and Dutch international Ooijer, also signed by former boss Mark Hughes, will be going nowhere.

"We have had a bid of £2million, which was rejected," chairman John Williams said of Warnock, while the message to Panathinaikos over Ooijer was equally unequivocal.

"We have received a bid from Panathinaikos but I have made it clear Andre is not for sale," he said.
