Blackpool manager Simon Grayson has not given up on signing Barnsley winger Martin Devaney.

The Tangerines have tabled a £150,000 bid for the 28-year-old and although that has triggered a clause in Devaney's contract allowing him to speak with Blackpool, Tykes boss Simon Davey insists he will have the final say.

Grayson, searching for a replacement for Wes Hoolahan following his switch to Norwich, said: "Whichever players come in for the wide positions can't be compared to Wes.

"Martin is a player we have looked at for a long time. I wanted to sign him 18 months ago but couldn't. Hopefully we will be able to do something this time around.

"We've made Barnsley an offer and it's up to them whether they accept it and whether we can agree personal terms, but we've done what we can do at this stage and that is put a bid in."
