Barnsley owner Patrick Cryne has revealed a striker and a wide player are top of Simon Davey's summer shopping list.

Cryne said manager Davey must wheel and deal in the transfer market, while Tykes fans should not expect anything like the number of new recruits who arrived last year.

Cryne told the Sheffield Star: "We'll focus on a striker and maybe a natural left winger. You should expect to see changes less radical than the previous year.

"We will need to make some changes because each year you have to reassess your position for recruitment.

"So we would expect the club to bring in key players in key positions, like another striker.

"Generally I think everyone recognises that we've created a lot of chances and not converted them."
