Barnet boss Ian Hendon admitted it was a case of two points dropped as his side failed to see off Port Vale in a one-sided 0-0 draw at Underhill.
The Bees, led by the industrious wing pairing of Yannick Bolasie and Albert Jarrett, were unable to grab the win after a host of missed chances.
But Hendon, who was forced to field a makeshift back four due to the ongoing defensive injury crisis at the club, had nothing but praise for his troops, and insisted there could have been a rout.
"Last week we got away with a 0-0, and this week we are very disappointed not to have won the game," he said. "We've had one cleared from the line and another hit the crossbar. The keeper's made a good save, and there were countless other near misses.
"If you're playing like that, more often than not you're going to win games of football.
"I think 1-0, 2-0 or even 3-0 would have been fair, but fair play to Micky's (Adams) team, they work hard for each other, they're organised, and they're a hard nut to crack."
