Aldershot`s caretaker manager Jason Dodd has admitted the lure of his former club Southampton was too good to resist after he accepted a position at the club's Academy.
Dodd will take charge of this weekend's FA Cup tie against Bury before returning to the south coast on Monday, but is proud of his time in charge of the Shots.
He said: "I will be returning to Southampton as it is a club close to my heart but Paul Williams and I have had a fantastic time at Aldershot.
"We have worked hard and the players have responded well and the supporters have seen what we can do.
"It has been a difficult period at the club with the departure of a manager and changes in the boardroom but we have just concentrated on the football and I think we have done a good job.
"It would be great now to get a terrific result against Bury on Saturday so we can go away pleased with what we have done."
