John Leppard has been appointed as the acting chairman of Aldershot, the club has confirmed.

Leppard's appointment was announced at a board meeting on Monday evening.

A club statement read: "It was imperative to make an immediate appointment of an acting chairman to provide stability and direction."

Aldershot are currently restructuring their board of directors. Leppard is a lifelong Aldershot fan who has been a director at the club since 1997.
